Creating God
All praise to you, glorious artist of spring
designer of the daisy, maker of the comely pastels of the machairs.
In bluebell woods the willow warbler peeps out his song
and in the heights amidst the remnants of the *Cailleach’s icy cloak
the mountain hare hides her still snowy *sark.

In the towns and cities the light shines on the buildings
brightening the days for town dwellers.
As passing powdery clouds appear in the puddles.
oily scars greet the morn in riotous rainbows
squinting smiles appear on faces as they pass to work or school.
This!

Lord of all, is the life we have been offered
to see you in the colourful complexity of creation
to witness your wonder in places and people-

Help us to see, feel, smell, touch with our soul-senses

And yet there is another world,
not so far away.
Fractured, pain and sorrow-filled, where
lives and homes lie shattered and fear breaks the morning fast.

This!
Lord of all, is the life we have been offered
to see you in the sadness, the suffering of our family
to witness your compassionate calling to places and people.

Help us to see, feel, smell, touch with our soul-senses

Where we have been a party to the desecration of creation
we bow our heads in sorrow.
May we rise loved,
forgiven,
filled.

Help us to see, feel, smell, touch with our soul-senses

This!
Lord of all, is the calling we have been offered
to see you in our hands held out to those in need
to witness to your love in all places to all people.
Until the day comes when all your children are free
to wander in bluebell woods and wonder at the sounds of Spring.
Amen
